With the warmer season upon us, many of us start to think about the coming Christmas season, all the festivities and the school holidays of course. For most families, Christmas is an exceptional time of the year. Friends and families gather and enjoy each other’s company. For others, Christmas is a religious time, where they celebrate the birth of Christ.

No matter how you and your family celebrate this festive time, most likely you will prepare for this season. Maybe start by deciding whether you would like a living Christmas tree this year.

The living Christmas tree

You can get potted Christmas trees in different sizes, each to suit your circumstances. A living Christmas tree is not only environmentally friendly; this kind of tree truly brings the spirit of Christmas home. They are easy to decorate and look good in every living room.

The Christmas tree, however, is not the only preparation most of us must make.

If money is a consideration

For many families, Christmas can be an additional financial strain. I would suggest to you that you start to buy presents as early as possible. Think of options like Lay-by, if that helps your budget.

Think of smaller presents, which come from the heart. It is the thought that counts, and even children will understand that. Christmas, after all, is not about gifts, but about celebrating each other, celebrating the solace of the family.

What to do, if the whole family arrives for lunch on Christmas Day

You don’t want to leave the cooking for the last two days. A good idea is to start early. Cook those things first which you could put in the freezer. And since it is mostly the mums of the families, you don’t have to do it all yourself. Invite your sister or a friend for a cook around. Not just do you get more done, cooking and baking for Christmas together makes a lot more fun!

Plan your festive days

Planning is something you can start early too.

Maybe you could begin with a guest list. Who do you want to invite, and should the lunch be indoors or outdoor? Perhaps this year you want to do it all differently and go to a beautiful place in nature. Christmas lunch can easily be replaced with a superb picknick.

Decide who are the people you want to present with a gift. Decide on what you would like to give and see if that works fine with your budget. Remember, it is not the price tag that counts but the thought you put into your present.

The earlier you start with all your Christmas preparation, the more relaxed you will be when all your guests arrive!
